Ad spend is separate and transparent. The fees above are for management. Your advertising budget is yours, paid to the platforms directly, always visible to you, never marked up.

The pre-publish quality gate

Editorial services

Before a book goes live, it should read clean. So you never have to leave to get your manuscript reader-ready, an optional but recommended step, or bundled into higher production tiers.

In-house

Proofreading

Catching typos, spacing and consistency, the final polish OW already runs on projects like Soul Sneakers, so your book reads clean from the first page.

Coordinated add-on

Editing (copy / line & developmental)

Heavier editing through trusted editors, the same coordinated model as illustration. From line-level clarity to developmental structure, arranged for you.

Publish everywhere that matters

Everything you need to know about the platforms

Your book can reach millions of readers across the world's leading stores. Here's every platform we publish and manage on, what each one is, and the kind of book it suits.

01

Amazon KDP

The anchor

Roughly 70–80% of the global ebook market. Handles ebook, paperback and hardcover through one dashboard with print-on-demand, no inventory, ever. The non-negotiable first platform, and the primary home of the Book Growth ad retainer.

EbookPrint · PODAd platformBest for: every book
02

IngramSpark

The gold standard for wide print distribution: paperback and hardcover into 39,000+ bookstores, libraries and retailers worldwide. This is what makes a book orderable beyond Amazon, genuine "traditional-publishing" bookstore reach.

Print · wideBookstoresLibrariesBest for: bookstore & library reach
03

Apple Books

Direct access to millions of iPhone, iPad and Mac readers across 50+ countries, ebooks and audiobooks. The major non-Amazon ebook channel.

EbookAudiobookBest for: Apple-ecosystem readers
04

Kobo

Strong globally, especially Canada, Europe and Asia-Pacific, with genuinely useful promo tools and an active indie-author team (Kobo Writing Life). A key "go wide" ebook store.

EbookGlobalBest for: international ebook reach
05

Barnes & Noble Press

The Nook ebook store plus paperbacks on BarnesAndNoble.com, solid royalties and reader credibility. Honest note: print doesn't reach physical B&N shelves without IngramSpark.

AggregatorEbook & printBest for: going wide, efficiently
08

Lulu

A premium print specialist: hardcovers, large-format, children's picture books and coffee-table quality, plus its own storefront. Best where print quality and format variety matter.

Print · premiumHardcoverBest for: high-quality & varied formats
09

PublishDrive

An aggregator reaching hard-to-access markets (including China) via a subscription model rather than a royalty split, useful for maximum global spread.

AggregatorEmerging marketsBest for: maximum global reach
10

Books.by

A direct-to-reader storefront with 100% royalties and daily payouts. The smart "sell your own traffic here" complement to Amazon discovery.

Direct-to-reader100% royaltyBest for: selling to your own audience

Also available as situational add-ons: BookBaby (higher-touch full-service print & direct sales) and Blurb (photo-heavy and visual books), offered where a specific project calls for them, rather than as headline platforms.

How we actually do it: we don't upload every book to all ten. The right mix depends on the book, an ebook-first novel, a children's picture book and a bookstore-targeted memoir each need a different set. We advise the mix that fits your book, then publish and manage it there.

Good questions

Self-publishing FAQ

Do I keep my rights?

Yes, 100%. You always own your book, your rights and every copy. OW never takes ownership or warehouses stock; we produce, publish and grow, and it stays yours throughout.

Which platforms will my book be on?

It depends on the book. We advise the right mix from the top platforms, Amazon KDP and IngramSpark are the usual backbone, with Apple Books, Kobo, Barnes & Noble, Google Play and others added where they fit. An ebook-first novel, a children's picture book and a bookstore-targeted memoir each get a different mix.

How long does production take?

Timelines depend on scope, length, whether editorial and illustration are involved, and how ready the manuscript is. We map a clear timeline with a finish line at your consultation, so you always know where the project stands.

What does "ad spend" mean?

Book Growth has two parts: our management fee (setting up and running the campaigns) and your ad spend (the budget paid to platforms like Amazon to show your ads). Ad spend is separate, transparent and yours, paid to the platform directly, never marked up.

Can I start with just Production and add Growth later?

Absolutely. Many authors begin with a one-time Production project to get published properly, then add the Book Growth retainer once the book is live and they're ready to push sales. You can start Growth on an already-published book too.
